Google Apps is a set of productivity tools that can help make what you do in your professional (and indeed private lives) much easier. You can have your Calender with you all the time to keep up all you and your staff appointments in one place. You can also work/collaborate on documents in real-time without having to send them back and forth through email. Of course, you’ll have your email as well and be able to send free text messages (the first 50) while at it to any network in Nigeria!
To begin with, point your browser to www.google.com/a. Click on “Solution” —–> “Google Apps (Free)”.
Click on “Get Started”
On this page, simply enter your desired domain name e.g. www.webtraining.com and click on “Submit”.
You will receive a message congratulating you on the availability of the domain name. If the name you have chosen is not available, you will receive this message:
“This domain has been registered and is in the process of ownership verification. If you believe this registration was unauthorized, see our Signup Troubleshooter to help guide in troubleshooting this issue.”
Now that your desired domain name is available, simply purchase the domain name.
Read the terms and condition and click “I accept! Create an account” to continue.
The next page would require you to choose your country of residence and currency. Choice of currency are between the Euro (€) or Dollar ($). Once you are done with this, click “Continue” to proceed.
On the new page, Check the necessary boxes and click on “Continue and review” to proceed.
Review the information on the next page. Note if you click on “Show all content”, the page will automatically refresh and take you back first page on the payment and billings.
Once you are done reviewing the information on the page. Click on “Accept and continue” to proceed.
Now you are required to enter contact details. For Nigerians, you can get your post code from Nipost.
Once done. Simply click on “Continue” to proceed.
It’s now time for you to enter your card details. Please ensure you see the “padlock” sign at the top of the address bar. This indicates that the page is secured (so to speak).
Once you are done entering the required entry, simply click on “Submit and activate my account”.
Well there you have it. Your business just acquired a space online. You will need to design the website site which is another issue on its own.
