The Importance of Google Apps to Your Business

Google Search

Google Search (or Google Web Search) is a web search engine owned by Google Inc. Google Search is the most-used search engine on the World Wide Web, receiving several hundred million queries each day through its various services. The main purpose of Google Search is to hunt for text in publicly accessible documents offered by web servers, as opposed to other data, such as with Google Image Search.

Google Search provides at least 22 special features beyond the original word-search capability. These include synonyms, weather forecasts, time zones, stock quotes, maps, earthquake data, movie showtimes, airports, home listings, and sports scores. There are special features for dates, including ranges, prices, temperatures, money/unit conversions, calculations, package tracking, patents, area codes and language translation of displayed pages.

Google’s rise to success was in large part due to a patented algorithm called PageRank that helps rank web pages that match a given search string.

You can carry out a search on information about similar businesses, products and data.

Google Chrome

Google Chrome is a freeware web browser developed by Google that uses the WebKit layout engine as of its latest stable release.

Google Chrome aims to be secure, fast, simple and stable. It allows users to synchronize their bookmarks and settings across all devices with the browser installed by sending and receiving data through a chosen Google Account, which in turn updates all signed-in instances of Chrome.

In term of how secured the Chrome is, it periodically retrieves updates of two blacklists (one for phishing and one for malware), and warns users when they attempt to visit a harmful site. This service is also made available for use by others via a free public API called “Google Safe Browsing API”.

Chrome offers a private browsing feature called Incognito mode which prevents the browser from permanently storing any history information or cookies from the websites visited. Incognito mode is similar to the private browsing feature in other web browsers. Chrome was the second browser to implement this feature, after Safari.

Wondering on fast and responsive the Chrome is compared to other browsers, the Chrome is rated as the fastest browser according to the 2013 Internet Browser Software Product Comparisons by TechMediaNetwork.
