Google recently announced that it has updated its social media service (Google+). The update allows Google+ users to send and receive emails from other Google+ connections even if they have never exchanged email addresses. All that needs to be done is to type the first or few letters and a list of names will appear to choose from.
Unfortunately, the service has been automatically enabled for all Google+ users but you can opt-out by following the steps below.
- Sign into your Gmail account;
- Locate “Settings” (this is on the top right corner of your screen or this icon); and
- Locate “Email via Google” and click on the preferred option. See image below
- Click on the “Save” button and bottom of the page to effect the changes.
